Homemade Coconut-Pecan Frosting

This is a traditional german chocolate cake frosting.
Ingredients
- 1 C.evaporated milk shopping list
- 1 C.sugar shopping list
- 2 egg yolks,slightly beaten shopping list
- 1/2 C.butter shopping list
- 1 tsp.vanilla shopping list
- 1 1/3 C.flaked coconut shopping list
- 1 C.chopped pecans shopping list
How to make it
- In a saucepan,mix the milk,sugar,egg yolks,butter and vanilla.
- Cook over medium heat until thickened,approx 12 minutes.
- Stir in coconut and pecans.
- Cook until thick enough to spread,beating occasionally.
- *This will fill and frost up to a 9" 3 layered cake.
