How to make it

  • In a small bowl bring sugar and water to a boil. Stir until sugar is dissolved. Immediately afterwards, add butter and stir at low heat until a thick syrup consitsency appears. Allow syrup to cool. Then, add grated coconut and egg yolks and carefully stir (do not beat) to get a creamy, homogeneous mixture. Pour the mixture into a mold (if you prefer, use individual molds) and then put it in the oven in a double boiler for 35 to 40 minutes at 350°F.
  • Wait until Flan cools completely and remove from mold.
