    The two tablespoons of sesame oil seems excessive – in Japan it is made primarily from the sesame seeds which are roasted until slightly golden in a pan (that brings out the oil), and then blitzed in a spice of coffee grinder. Also the mirin should give it enough sweetness.

    I didn't know it had a name :) I make this A LOT the only difference is I use 100% pure maple syrup instead of sugar and also sometimes I use molasses. Do you mean grated ginger? and then garlic?
