Crockpot Italian Beef Recipe

Ingredients

beef roast (i use sirloin roast) about 3 to 4 lbs (i think this is right, i just grab what looks good)

1 medium jar of medium to hot giardiana (sp??) i used medium

1 can of low sodium beef broth

crusty rolls

provelone cheese

Directions

brown the beef roast on all sides in a heavy skillet with a little oil

place in crockpot

dump in medium jar of giardana sp??

dump in can of low sodium beef broth

cook on low for 10 hrs or so until beef falls apart when forked

shred beef into the juice in the crock pot

turn on oven broiler

open crusty roll, with tongs place beef into the roll, top with a little extra giardana and top with slice of provelone cheese. broil until cheese is melted. i then put a little juice onto the sandwich and enjoy...

very simple, delicious...

Yummy, this has to be good. I love that giardini (sp) mix as well, never thought about putting it over meat in a crockpot. Great post, you have my 5 Jeff, great job.

What is "giardana" or "giardini?" Can't find reference to either. Are we talking salsa?

Giardiniera is an Italian relish sort of. You can find it in the ethnic section of just about any grocery store. It comes in Hot and Mild. It has in it oil, vinegar, peppers, celery, some veggies .
its very good.. I bet you'll find it pretty easily in the store.
