How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  • Slice your fruit thinly and mix with cranberries and sugar, spread into a 13"x9" baking pan
  • In a bowl mix the oatmeal, flour, brown sugar, and spices together, do not worry if brown sugar is a little lumpy. Mix in the melted butter until everything is sticky
  • Spread oatmeal mix overtop of fruits. Suggestion: ujsing a fork to crumble the mix and gradually shaking it over the fruit will get a more even layer, and fewer sticky fingers. Use a large spoon or your butter wrapper to press the top lightly afterwards, to help it all stick together again
  • bake 45 minutes, until fruit juices are bubling. serve warm with ice cream (vanilla is good, butter pecan is better!) or chilled anytime for a snack.

Too many apples and a bag of cranberries are sitting in my fridge. This recipe will put them to good use. I will make this tonight!
