I came across the web site for Hostess goodies makers of Twinkies This recipe there intrigued me . It was a big success when I shared it at work. At first the quantity of ingredients didn't seem right, but an overnight chilling firmed things up and the dessert turned out quite delicious. Ingredients
- 14 Hostess Twinkies ( individual cream filled sponge cakes ) shopping list
- 2 pkgs of cherry gelatin shopping list
- 2 cups hot water shopping list
- 2 pkgs instant vanilla pudding shopping list
- 1 cup cold milk shopping list
- 1 container of whipped topping shopping list
- 1 jar maraschino cherries shopping list
How to make it
- Place 14 Twinkie in a 9x 13 pan.
- Dissolve the cherry gelatin in the hot water and pour evenly over the Twinkies.
- Sprinkle on some chopped cherries.
- Mix the milk with the pudding.
- The mixture will be thick.
- Carefully spread pudding over the Twinkies.
- Spread the whipped topping over the pudding.
- Garnish with more chopped cherries. Chill overnight then cut into pieces.
- Note: I even sprinkled on some flaked coconut which I think added more appeal to the dessert.
