How to make it

  • Cook time does not include chill time
  • Soak 6 skewers if using wood for 20 minutes
  • Soak bread in cold water until wet
  • Squeeze out excess water
  • Add remaining ingredients and mix together
  • Refrigerate 30 minutes.
  • Divide meat into 6 portions and form into oval shape
  • Skewers patties
  • Grill 3-4 minutes and flip
  • Grill another 3-4 minutes

    I expected this recipe to be super spicy but it was not, just nicely seasoned and flavorful. I could not find Turkish Red Pepper and an internet search said to use Ancho Chili Powder nor could I find Ground Sumac so I used lemon zest. Use ground beef too. I enjoyed them!

    Corrine, Now how do you expect us to grind up that cute little Lamb in you pic... LOL Good job.. I love grilled Kefta. Reminds me of summer. And the sumac! Everything goes better with sumac...;-)~~ Thanks Jim
