How to make it

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  • Brown sausage
  • While browning, add onion, garlic and pepper until softend.
  • Add one can of whole tomatoes and crush the tomatoes.
  • Continue cooking.
  • Add spaghetti sauce and seasonings and mushrooms.
  • Stir well.
  • Continue simmering while pasta is cooked.
  • Do not over cook the pasta. Undercooking just a little is preferred.
  • While draining the pasta, put the ricotta and parmesan and parsley in the pot in which you cooked the pasta. (reserve a bit of parsley for garnish)
  • Stir well to coat the pasta.
  • Pour 1/2 of the sauce into a 9x13" baking dish. (I use a baking stone)
  • Put the pasta/cheese mixture in next.
  • Cover with remaining sauce.
  • Sprinkle with 1 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Bake for 25 - 35 minutes, until bubbly.
  • Let sit for 10 mintues and serve with italian bread and salad.
