Southern Peanut Brittle Recipe

Ingredients
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup light (Karo) corn syrup
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 cups raw peanuts
  • 2 tbs butter
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking soda

Directions
  1. Boil sugar, corn syrup and water to hard boil. Stir in peanuts and continue to boil until peanuts pop., (about 295 degrees). Remove from heat.
  2. Stir in 1 1/2 tsp baking soda and 2 tbs butter
  3. Pour onto greased cookie sheet.
  4. Break apart when cool
  5. Note: Other nuts such as pecans or walnuts can be used for a different flavor.
