A long time ago, a non-cooking magazine (possibly Games Magazine) held a contest for best chocolate chip cookies. They had hundreds of entries and ate themselves sick - and this recipe won. Ingredients
- 1 cup soft real butter shopping list
- 1 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup boiling water shopping list
- 1 tsp baking soda shopping list
- 1 tsp vanilla shopping list
- 1-1/4 cup flour shopping list
- 1/2 tsp salt shopping list
- 2 cups quick oats shopping list
- 12oz semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
How to make it
- Heat oven to 350.
- Cream butter and sugar.
- Dissove baking soda in boiling water, then stir into first mixture.
- Add vanilla; add dry ingredients and chips.
- Drop small balls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake 10-12 minutes.
- Makes 5-6 dozen.
- Doing two dozen at a time with 4 baking sheets (two in the oven, two out) cuts baking time in half.
- Pig out!
