Ingredients
  • A basic pizza dough recipe for the processor :
  • 3 cups flour, ( up to you to either use all purpose, bread flour etc. ) plus as needed-
  • 1 tsp salt,
  • 1 tsp. sugar,
  • 1 tsp yeast ( regular active ) or 1/2 Tsp. instant active yeast,
  • BE SURE TO READ EXPIRATION LABEL AND YEAST IS STILL ACTIVE
  • 1 Tbs oil ( OLIVE )
  • approximately 1 cup water ( 100F ). Warm, not hot !
  • Note, amt of water will change, depending on type of flour!

Directions
  1. Doughs made in the food processor are prepared very quickly and efficiently with the least amount of dough heat produced.
  2. Method: place flour, salt, yeast, sugar in the processor with metal blade and briefly pulse ( few seconds ) to combine.
  3. Then with motor running, slowly add water through the feed tube until the mixtures becomes a moist mass and clings together almost into a ball..
  4. It is very important to stop at this point and not to overprocess or over warm the dough, all which can cause poor texture.
  5. The total time for processing should be no more than 30 to 45 seconds.
  6. If dough is too wet, process in a bit more flour ( few teaspoons ) or if too dry process in a few teaspoons water.
  7. Remove the dough from the processor ( form into a ball
  8. with a few brief kneads, no further kneading ! ) .
  9. Continue as you would for any pizza dough ( cover let rise, punch down etc. use to make pizza )
  10. Yield: 1 large or 2 small pizza crusts or 1 loaf of bread.

Thank you, fool proof is always the best!

You are welcome,
lots of people never think of making dough recipes in the food processor. Although I make my dough via several methods, this one is so simple and excellent.

EXCELLENT idea and one I had not thought of but believe me I won't forget it and will use it. Sounds great

My Favorite words"FOOL PROOF" you get my 5

I have always wanted to learn how to make my own pizza dough, but it seemed rather intimidating (I'm not a breadmaker at all)...your recipe makes it sound very do-able, and I am going to give it a try. Is it what you used on that marvelous looking white onion pizza you posted today??

I used a basic pizza dough- made in the bread machine! I could post that recipe too.

Well, I will post for you, so be on the look out for it and I hope you have a bread machine!

Fool proof is just what I need!

Thank you for your precision-specific directions. No bread machine in my house, but do have my 'workhorse' Cuisinart. ( I am like Krumkake, not only am I intimidated, when I try, it flops.) Will keep this on-hand.
