Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cut the meat into 2" cubes
  • Put about 5 cubes on each skewer. (only one type of meat per skewer)
  • Place on BBQ mesh
  • Breathe in deeply to enjoy the full aroma
  • Chase away stray cats
  • After about 2 minutes turn skewers over
  • Chase away cats again
  • Grill on all sides
  • Remove from coals and wait for compliments
  • OH! Those darn cats!
  • Suggestion: Add a few stalks of Rosemary or some Citrus peels to the coals for that extra aroma

We adopted a stray 3 years ago-actually she adopted us-anyway not long after we had a holiday weekend and everyone in the neighbourhood was out in the sunshine having a BBQ and Maya came trotting into the backyard proudly carrying a chicken wing! Not a bone that she might have gotten from the garbage somewhere but a fully cooked ready to eat wing! So your advice is good. :-)

Aren't there any spices besides rosemary you'd put on this in preparation for grilling? I can't imagine what the flavour would be like without salt -- ?

Shishkabob is one of my favorite grilling dishes. I like the idea of charcoal grilling the meat. It lends itself to lots of dipping sauces and side dishes. Thank you for a wonderful post
