Cherry Almond Mousse Pie Recipe
I think I found this recipe years ago in a Taste of Home Magazine. This is on the menu every Christmas!

Ingredients
  • 1-pie shell baked and cooled
  • 1 can eagle brand condensed milk
  • 1 square unsweetened chocolate
  • 1/2 tea almond extract
  • 1 jar maraschino cherries, drained, patted dry and chopped; reserve 8
  • 1 8 oz package cream cheese room temp.
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 3 oz package instant vanilla pie filling
  • 1 cup whipping cream- whipped
  • 1/2 cup toasted almond slivers or slices

Directions
  1. Over low heat combine 1/2 cup of condensed milk with chocolate until melted and thick; about 4-5 minutes. Stir in 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Pour in the bottom of cooked cooled pastry shell. Beat cream cheese until light and fluffy gradually add the water, remaining milk, pudding and remaining 1/4 teaspoon of almond extract. Mix until smooth; fold in whipped cream, cherries and nuts. Pour over chocolate in pastry shell and top with left over cherries. Chill at least 6 hours. ENJOY
