- ****************** base****************** shopping list
- 2 cups all-purpose flour shopping list
- 2 cups quick- cooking rolled oats shopping list
- 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon baking soda shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1-1/4 cups margarine or butter, softened shopping list
- ******************* filling***************** shopping list
- 1 ( 12.5 ounce) jar ( 1 cup) caramel ice cream topping shopping list
- 3 tablespoons all - purpose flour shopping list
- 1 ( 6 ounce) pkg ( 1 cup ) of semi-sweet chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts shopping list
How to make it
- heat oven to 350 degrees F. grease a 13 x 9 inch pan. in a large bowl, combine all base ingredients; mix at low speed until crumbly., reserve half of crumb mixture ( ABOUT 3 CUPS) for topping.
- press remaining crumb mixture in bottom of greased pan
- bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees f.
- meanwhile, in a small bowl, combine cramel topping and 3 tablespoons flour.
- remove partially baked base from oven; sprinkle with chocolate and nuts.
- drizzle caramel topping evenly over nuts
- sprinkle reserved crumb mixture over caramel
- bake at 350 degrees f. for additonal 18 to 20 minutes or until golden brown....
- cool 1 hour......then refrigerate 1 to 2 hours or until filling is set cut into bars
- yields 36 bars
