How to make it

  • Cut cornbread into cubes and set aside
  • In fairly large pot saute onions, bell peppers, celery, and
  • garlic in butter add sage breakfast sausage making sure to
  • break it up into small pieces while cooking.
  • add cubed corbread and start adding chicken broth to moisten
  • dressing.
  • add sugar, rubbed or ground sage, and season to taste.
  • (dont omit sage it really makes it good)

    So glad to see that you use peppers in your recipe! So many folks don't. I love green peppers in my dressing! I use the sugar when I cook the corn bread (as opposed to adding it to the dressing mixture). I don't guess there's much difference in that though...right?

    Wanda, I love cornbread dressing, and this one sounds wonderful...I also like cornbread with pintos, and with any soup! Thanks for the great post!
