Cream Cheese Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe
CREAM CHEESE STUFFED MUSHROOMS This recipe came from an estate sale. I obtained it when I purchased the family collection from the Viler Estate in Georgetown, Texas in 1991.

Ingredients
  • 2 pounds fresh mushrooms
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup natural blue cheese crumbled
  • 2 tablespoons white onions chopped

Directions
  1. Remove mushroom stems and chop to measure 1 cup.
  2. Cook half of the mushroom caps in 3 tablespoons butter over medium heat 5 minutes.
  3. Drain well then repeat with remaining mushrooms and butter.
  4. Combine cream cheese and blue cheese then mix until well blended.
  5. Stir in chopped stems and onions then fill mushroom caps.
  6. Place on cookie sheet and broil until golden brown.

This recipe sounds divine. I don't care to much for bleu cheese, but at the same time..I fell in love with a bleu cheese butter sauce. so, it has opened my horizon to try atleast once something that has bleu cheese in it. it's worth a try..you've got my five!!
