Doughnuts

Through the Kitchen Door May 1968 - In sharing these recipes from the 60's I must admit that they include poems that I wanted to put here also. I hope you all like them as much as I do.
Ingredients
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 cup sugar shopping list
- 1 cup sour milk, mixed with shopping list
- 1 teaspoon soda shopping list
- 3 teaspoon baking powder shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon salt shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg shopping list
- 2 tablespoons melted butter shopping list
- 5 cups flour shopping list
How to make it
- Beat the eggs and add sugar.
- Mix the flour with the baking powder and salt and add to the egg mixture.
- Add sour milk and soda.
- Roll out on floured board.
- Cut with doughnut cutter.
- Drop into hot fat, brown on one side, turn and brown on the other side.
- Drain.
