Ingredients

How to make it

  • Toss berries with the 1/4 cup flour and set aside.
  • Cream butter and sugar light and fluffy.
  • Beat in eggs, one at a time.
  • Sift dry ingredients together.
  • Beat into creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk.
  • Fold in the berries which will thin out batter a bit.
  • Divide batter into 2 well greased and floured 8 inch loaf pans.
  • Bake in a 350F oven about 60 minutes OR tested done in center use middle oven rack.
  • Cool in pans 10 to 15 minutes, carefully loosen from pans and carefully remove to cool completely on rack.
  • Wrap in foil or plastic and let rest overnight before serving as flavors improve and bread slices best.
  • Freezes well
  • Yield 2 well shaped 8 inch pan loaves

    oh my gosh. I post very early every morning. Soo glad you brought this up. I will go back and look for eggs and flour amt! Thank You for bringing this up! Will look for corrected recipe!

    I tried this, but when I copied it and pasted it, somehow the flour was not there! Nor how many eggs. I put in 2 eggs since directions are plural. I also put in 2 cups of flour, but yours says 1/4 cup. hmmm.... I'll have to test this again and use on the one fourth of cup. However, my hubby loved this bread! The strawberries were perfect and bread has excellent flavor!

    Yummy! I could make this for our last weekend of fellowship at Church. Would be something different and sounds delightful. Strawberries have been wonderful so far this year, too! Thank you for sharing.
