Ingredients
  • for kofta (minced meat)
  • 600 g minced lamb
  • 1/4 of nutmeg -grated-
  • 1/3 tsp of cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp of ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 egg
  • For the sauce:
  • 6 white onions
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 8 cl vegetable oil
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • 50grams of sultana raisins
  • 5cl water

Directions
  1. in a bowl, mix the minced meat with spices, egg, half the oil. make balls and put a side.
  2. in a tagine (or pan if u dont have one) put the cut onions, add salt, and vegetable oil. add cinnamon sticks and let onion cook and partially dissolve in very low heat 2-3
  3. put raisins in hot water for 10mn to increase in size. remove raisins and excess water from them.
  4. in a non-stick pan, put the meatballs and remainder of oil and keep turning gently so not to break. (until 75% cooked). add to onion compote and garnish with the boiled raisins.
  5. let cook on low-heat for 10mn. serve hot. with bread. (usually baguette )
