Horse Race Pie

Adapted from traditional recipe from the Kentucky Derby
Ingredients
- 4 eggs shopping list
- 3/4 cup white sugar shopping list
- 1/4 cup brown sugar shopping list
- 1 teaspoon vanilla shopping list
- 2 tablespoons bourbon(we never have it, gotta ask a neighbor!) shopping list
- 1 cup white corn syrup shopping list
- 1 stick melted butter(1/2 cup) shopping list
- 1 tablespoon flour shopping list
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans shopping list
- 1 cup chocolate chips shopping list
- 1 unbaked pie shell(home-made or store bought) shopping list
- whipped cream for garnish, if desired shopping list
How to make it
- Beat the eggs
- Add them to the sugars, vanilla, bourbon, corn syrup, butter & flour
- Mix well
- Distribute nuts and chips in the bottom of the pie shell
- Pour the filling on top
- Bake for 45 minutes
- Best served warm
- Garnish with whipped cream, if desired
- Serve small slices because pie is very rich!

Jett... always loved this pie... its always a winner... Kinda rich....you need some good coffee to go with this pie recipe for sure....Good to hear from you again as well... hope all is fine with you..
