How to make it

  • Arrange peaches in a greased 11-in.x 7-in.x 2-in. baking dish.
  • In a mixing bowl, combine butter and 1/2 cup sugar.
  • Beat in vanilla.
  • Combine the flour, baking powder and salt; add to creamed mixture alternately with milk. Pour over peaches; sprinkle with remaining sugar.
  • Pour cold water over the top.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 35 - 40 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream.
  • Yield: 6 servings.

    I like this one. Mom never used spices in hers and this looks about how hers would look. Thank you...Mom is gone now and I did not get a chance to get her recipe. This looks like it may just be the one I was looking for.

    Being a GA peach, this sounds really good. I've actually never made a cobbler. I know, I said it and the walls didn't cave in on me! Will try this.

    Does sound good, bet you could use other fruits also. I'm an almond flavoring lover, I think I would add maybe almond flavoring instead of the vanilla. You have my 5
