Scotland Oat Scones Recipe
This recipe is from the old country...A very good basic good scone..good at tea time with jams and marmalade.. This is a Perthshire parish recipe.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup old fashion oats
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
  • 1/4 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup milk

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  2. Mix first 6 ingredients; cut in shortening.
  3. Add milk, mix to soft dough with fork.
  4. Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness; cut into triangles.
  5. Place on greased cookie sheet.
  6. Bake for 15 minutes.
