This recipe is from the old country...A very good basic good scone..good at tea time with jams and marmalade..
This is a Perthshire parish recipe.

Ingredients
- 1 cup old fashion oats
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1/4 cup shortening
- 1/2 cup milk
Directions
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
- Mix first 6 ingredients; cut in shortening.
- Add milk, mix to soft dough with fork.
- Roll out to 1/2 inch thickness; cut into triangles.
- Place on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake for 15 minutes.
