I inherited this recipe from my Mother. It was my Grandfathers favorite dish and reminds me of sweet memories of days gone by.

Ingredients
  • 3 cups Celery chopped
  • 2 White onion chopped
  • 4 TBS Sage
  • 2 tsp caynne pepper
  • 3 TBS Poultry seasoning
  • Boiled/ Baked Chicken deboned - reserve the stock
  • White loaf bread, or bread crumbs, either way let it set out to dry, naturally
  • 2-3 pans of prepared cornbread
  • 2 cans Cream of Chicken Soup
  • 3 eggs
  • salt and pepper to taste

Directions
  1. In Large roasting pan combine the dried bread and cornbread
  2. Crumble and tear apart the breads
  3. Crumble and tear apart add the chicken pieces add to the bread
  4. In a skillet saute the celery and onions
  5. Add the seasonings and the soup.
  6. Add the soup mixture to the roasting pan bread mixture
  7. Crack and add in the whole eggs to the bread mixture
  8. Begin to mix by hand and gradually add in the stock to moisten the dressing
  9. Once it is mixted and not too wet bake at 350 for approx 1.5 hours
  10. Njoy
