Scotch Eggs Recipe
This is the main fare of a Ploughman's Lunch; add some stilton or gloucester cheese, grapes, pears and a good glass of stout and you'll be twirling your kilt for days! The perfect picnic food.

Ingredients
  • 6 eggs, hardcooked (note: older eggs peel easiest)
  • 1 lb. of mild (sweet) ground sausage
  • 1 c. seasoned bread crumbs
  • 4 tbs. flour
  • paprika

Directions
  1. Prep time includes hardboiling the eggs
  2. Peel and cool.
  3. Separate the sausage into 6 equal parts
  4. Roll the peeled egg in flour
  5. Form the sausage around the egg, distributing evenly, following the oval shape
  6. Roll in bread crumbs to coat
  7. Let sit while deep fryer comes up to 350 degrees
  8. Lower eggs into oil and cook till golden - to dark brown.
  9. Drain on papertowels.
  10. Sprinkle with paprika
  11. Cool and serve with fruit and cheese.
