Smokey Shrimp

- 1.5 lbs shell on shrimp shopping list
- 2 medium onions (sliced like rings) shopping list
- 1/4 cup cumin shopping list
- 1tsp salt shopping list
- 1 tsp pepper shopping list
- 1tsp veg oil shopping list
- 1 small onion chopped shopping list
- 2 cups water shopping list
- 1 cup basmati rice shopping list
- salt & pepper to taste shopping list
How to make it
- Put clean shrimp in a pot.
- Layer the sliced onions over the shrimp
- Sprinkle the cumin, salt & pepper over the onion and give it all a good stir.
- Cover pot and put on low heat for 20 mins, stirring ever 5 mins.
- As the shrimp cooks the onions and the shrimp will release their juices and make a great smokey broth.
- The Rice:
- In a small saucepan add the oil and the chopped onion
- Saute on high heat until onion turn golden in color.
- Add water and bring to a boil
- Add salt and pepper to water and then add the rice
- Cover and reduce heat to low and let simmer for 15 mins or until cooked.
- Plate rice then ladle on the shrimp with broth over rice.
- Peel shrimp & Enjoy!
- This is also great with garlic seasoned Tahini Sauce to dip the shrimp in.

Well Cgendy, This sounds great. You have not faild me yet. Every dish of yours I have made has been a 10 not a 5!! I have some broth I made from some roasted chickens. I bet it would be tasty to make the rice with it. It may enhance the smokiness....more
