Slow-cooked German Short Ribs Recipe

Ingredients

2Tbs all-purpose flour

1tsp. salt

1/8tsp ground black pepper

3lbs beef short ribs

2Tbs olive oil

1 onion,sliced

1/2c dry red wine

1/2c chili sauce

3Tbs packed brown sugar

3Tbs vinegar

1Tbs worcestershire sauce

1/2tsp dry mustard

1/2tsp chili powder

2Tbs all-purpose flour

1/4c water

Directions

In a small bowl,combine 2Tbs flour,salt and pepper. Coat the short ribs with flour mixture

In a large skillet,heat the olive oil over med-high heat. Brown short ribs in olive oil.

In a slow cooker,combine onions,wine ,chili sauce,brown sugar,vinegar.,worcestershire sauce,mustard and chili powder.. Mix thoroughly. Transfer the short ribs from the skillet to the slow cooker.

Cover,and cook on low 6-8 hours

Remove ribs,and turn slow cooker control to high. Mix the remaining 2Tbs. of flour with 1/4c water and stir into the sauce. Cook for 10 mins,or till slightly thickened.
