How to make it

  • PREHEAT OVEN 375 degrees
  • Grease a 8 1/2x4 1/2-inch loaf pan
  • Cobined all dry ingredinets cut in shortening with 2 knifes untill mixture resembles coarse crumbs
  • Whisk together buttermilk, eggs in small bowl make well in center of dry ingrediients Add buttermilk mixture stir well batter will be stiff spread evenly in pan {remove all air bubbles. Bake 50-55 minutes cool in pan remove from pan cool another 10 minutes serve warm

    hey Mo, Answer me real quick if you can. How much shortening do you add. I dont see it in the ingredients. I am just about to make it, my greens have a little way to go. hugs....Cheryl

    Good morning my friend, I love cornbread! When Alfred made baby limas and bacon the other night, I wanted cornbread so bad, but didn't have it. The next time we have beans or black-eye peas, I will make yours. TTUL. Have a wonderful day. Hugs....Cheryl
