Gos Crabmeat Au Gratin Recipe
Easy dish for supper just add a side salad and a crusty loaf of french bread.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb of lump crabmeat (picked through to remove shell).
  • 1 stick of butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 and 1/4 cups shredded chedder cheese (save 1/4 cup to sprinkle on top of casserole.)
  • 1 cup onion finely chopped
  • 2 ribs of celery finely chopped
  • 1 13 oz can evaporated milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon white pepper
  • 2 egg yokes lightly beaten
  • dash of garlic powder(optional)
  • dash of hot sauce(optional)

Directions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. over medium heat melt butter in sauce pan and saute onions and celery until tender.
  3. add flour, and stir to blend.
  4. add evaporated milk, salt, pepper, egg yokes, garlic, hot sauce, egg yokes, and 1 cup of cheese
  5. stirring constantly.constantly until cheese has almost melted completely.
  6. fold in crabmeat gently until combined
  7. spoon into a buttered casserole dish
  8. sprinkle remaining cheese on top.
  9. bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly
  10. plate and serve
  11. add a side salad and some crusty french bread and your meal will be complete.
