Ingredients
  • 1/2 gallon ripe tomatoes
  • 1 1/2 c cider vinegar
  • 1/2 c brown sugar
  • 1/3 c salt
  • 2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp powdered ginger
  • 1 tsp allspice
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cloves
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

Directions
  1. Press the tomatoes through a fine sieve, making a thick juice.
  2. Add the other ingredients to the tomato juice, mix, bottle, and let stand.
  3. Ready immediately, but tastes richer if let to sit for a day.
  4. If you want a thicker sauce, simmer and reduce the tomato puree before adding the other ingredients.

I love anything I can make myself. How long will it keep in the fridge?

Should keep about 10-14 days, but I never make that much that I don't use immediately.

I made my own Catsup this summer because I has so many tomatoes. I added Hot habanero peppers to my recipe.
I canned my them in small mason jars so it last longer.
