- 1/2 gallon ripe tomatoes shopping list
- 1 1/2 c cider vinegar shopping list
- 1/2 c brown sugar shopping list
- 1/3 c salt shopping list
- 2 tsp dry mustard shopping list
- 1 tsp powdered ginger shopping list
- 1 tsp allspice shopping list
- 1 tsp black pepper shopping list
- 1 tsp cloves shopping list
- 1 tsp cayenne pepper shopping list
How to make it
- Press the tomatoes through a fine sieve, making a thick juice.
- Add the other ingredients to the tomato juice, mix, bottle, and let stand.
- Ready immediately, but tastes richer if let to sit for a day.
- If you want a thicker sauce, simmer and reduce the tomato puree before adding the other ingredients.

I made my own Catsup this summer because I has so many tomatoes. I added Hot habanero peppers to my recipe.
I canned my them in small mason jars so it last longer.
