It was delicious! Hit the spot. I used a whole green pepper and a package of fresh mushrooms instead of canned and probably doubled the cheese- everything else the same and it was good. I used a new bread for the first time for the crumbs- Sarah Lee- and that was a mistake as it the bread had a sweetness to it which didn't work so well in the dish. But still yummy!

Very good comfort food. Will be a big hit for the Ronald McDonald house meals, I'm sure.

This recipe looks like something I would like to try, but how do you make buttered soft bread crumbs?

I made this recipe. I didn't have green pepper on hand, so I substituted some jarred red pepper. I won't do that again. HOWEVER, the overall flavor of this dish was really good. A nice change from the only standard tuna casserole my husband will eat - the one with a couple cans of campbell's soup and not much else. This was much better, and he ate most of it all up the night it was cooked. Next time, I will have some green pepper and I will also double the soft bread crumbs. Those were a nice crunchy touch on the finished casserole, but there needed to be more!

This sounds similar to a Rotel spaghetti recipe that I have. Instead of olives, mine has English peas and pimento, and instead of the seasoned salt and pepper, mine has the Rotel. Yours looks like it has more taste to it, though. I'll have to try it.
