How to make it

  • Dumplings:
  • In medium bowl, combine flour,parsley flakes, garlic powder and salt.
  • Cut in butter, using a pasty blender of fork.
  • Slowly add milk, mixing with flour(do not over mix)
  • Roll out dough on floured surface. Roll dough to 1/8 inch thickness.
  • Cut dough into 2 inch strips
  • In large soup pot, cook onions, celery, and green onions in butter until tender.
  • Add bacon sausage and ham and continue to cook 3 to 4 minutes.
  • Add broth and beans and bring to a boil.
  • Reduce heat to low simmer and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.
  • Drop dumplings a few at a time into simmering broth.
  • Stir to prevent sticking
  • Add Tony's and continue to simmer for 10 to 12 minutes.
  • Serve with fresh hot French bread slices on the side

    My mother in law makes lentil soup with dumplings and my husband loves it. I know he'll like this soup with ham, bacon and sausage! I'll be giving it a try.
