Debs Stuffed Drunken Shroons

I love the flavor of bourbon and mushrooms. The flavors work so well together. I also love stuffed mushrooms with sausage. So, I joined both of my recipes together for one recipe. Hope you enjoy them! I serve these at weddings and parties that I cater and they are a big hit!
Ingredients
- 1 lb mushrooms, washed, dried, and stems removed. shopping list
- 1/2 roll breakfast sausage(mild) shopping list
- 8 oz cream cheese shopping list
- 1 stick butter shopping list
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic shopping list
- 1/4 cup sliced green onions shopping list
- 1/2 cup chopped onions shopping list
- 1/2 cup burgundy shopping list
- 1 teaspoon italian seasoning shopping list
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt shopping list
- dash salt and pepper shopping list
- 1/3 cup bread crumbs shopping list
How to make it
- Brown sausage in skillet.
- Stir in cream cheese and cook until cream cheese softens..
- Pour cooked sausage mixture in mixing bowl.
- Add green onions to mixture and stir well to blend ingredients.
- In skillet, saute mushrooms and onions in butter until tender.
- Add seasoning and burgundy, cover and cook over low heat for 3 minutes.
- Remove mushrooms from pan and place in casserole or baking dish.
- Stuff mushrooms with sausage stuffing.
- Pour butter/burgundy sauce over mushrooms.
- Sprinkle the tops lightly with bread crumbs.
- Place mushrooms under broiler for 2 to 3 minutes.
- Serve
