Grandmas Cream Layer Cake

This is Gr Grandma Laura's recipe. Grandpa Will was a Gentleman farmer near Saugatuck/Douglas, and she made this often for the farm hands. Just the ingredients are listed on my card, so I've gone by past experience for cooking time and directions.
Ingredients
- 1 c sugar shopping list
- 1/2 c sweet milk (I use half and half) shopping list
- 2 Tbsp butter shopping list
- 2 lg. eggs shopping list
- 1 1/2 c cake flour shopping list
- 1 tsp baking powder shopping list
How to make it
- Grease and flour 2-8" cake pans
- Cream sugar and butter,
- Beat eggs and milk lightly together and cream into the sugar and butter mixture
- Sift flour and baking powder, fold into wet mixture
- Pour into prepared baking pans and bake at 350 for about 45 min or until a wooden pick come out clean.
- Transfer to cooling racks and cool completly
- Frost and serve

Simple, easy and sounds delicious! Our grandmothers sure knew how to cook. I have so many of my grandmothers recipes but most of hers do not have anything measured because she knew them by heart.
