I like to make my own bbq and sticky rib sauces. It's more fun when you can alter them to your own taste.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce ( your favorite brand)
  • 1/4 cup cola
  • 2 Tbsp honey
  • 2 Tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp yellow mustard
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce
  • 1 clove garlic, finely minced

Directions
  1. Combine all ingredients in a large saucepan.
  2. Over medium heat, let mixture come to a boil and then reduce and allow to simmer for 5 minutes.
  3. If sauce is too thick, add 2-3 tablespoons water.
  4. Remove sauce from heat and set aside.
  5. When cool, use on grilled or oven ribs, or bottle and refrigerate.
  6. Makes enough for 6 lbs of ribs.
