How to make it

  • Weigh your eggs, to determine their weight
  • Use equal amounts of sugar, flour, butter (that equal the weight of your 4 eggs).
  • Cream sugar and butter.
  • Add eggs one at a time beating after each addition.
  • Beat for an additional 30 minutes. (not a typo, needs to be well beaten)
  • Fold in flour.
  • Pour into round pan.
  • Top with whole plums.
  • Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.
  • This recipe dates back approximately 120 years!!!
