How to make it

  • Trim all fat off of the meat. Cut meat into thin strips (about 2 x 1/8 in.)
  • Coat these strips with flour.
  • Brown meat strips and onions in oil.
  • Stir loose all of the scrapings.
  • Add 1 cup of the water, garlic, tomato sauce, vinegar, horseradish, mustard, salt and pepper.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 1 hr.
  • At the end you may have to add the last 1/2 cup of water if it's too thick.
  • Great served on rice or mashed potatoes.
