Feather Light Biscuits Recipe

Feather Light Biscuits Recipe
Most tables welcome biscuits! Hot tender biscuits, steamin' from the oven, spread with butter are hard to beat. Even harder to beat, when spread with honey, jelly, jam, or preserves. Not to even mention gravy. Some kind of good!

Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2-3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 stick melted butter

Directions
  1. Grease a 10 inch cake pan with Crisco, set aside
  2. In large bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar
  3. Stir the ingredients with a fork
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together 1/2 cup of heavy cream and the sour cream
  5. Add the cream mixture to the dry ingredients, slowly
  6. Mix lightly with a fork
  7. Gather the dough together by hand
  8. If it doesn't completely come together, add a little more of the heavy cream until it does
  9. Pat the dough into a ball
  10. Roll it out on a lightly floured board, forming a disc
  11. With a biscuit cutter, cut into 12 biscuits
  12. Dip both sides of each biscuit in melted butter
  13. Place them in the prepared pan with sides touching
  14. Place in a 400 degree oven for about 13-15 minutes or until lightly browned

Rosemaryblue, thanks for the recipe. I made these today for breakfast. They were incredible and so easy to work with. Light, tender and excellent flavor. Just don't tell anyone about the fat content though. :)
