CHINESE RICE CASSEROLE Recipe
A easy rice side dish. We eat this with just about any kind of meat. Hope you like it.

Ingredients
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 stick butter (cut into chunks)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 pkg. dry onion soup mix
  • 1 tsp (low sodium) soy sauce
  • 1 cup frozen peas

Directions
  1. In a buttered or sprayed casserole dish place all ingredients. Cover and bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Yum. We eat a lot of rice too and this sounds fabulous. Great post. You have my 5.


What is Chinese about this? Chinese people don't use butter, certainly wouldn't use "dry onion soup mix" and would not eat frozen peas.

Waving some soy sauce over a dish (low sodium or not) doesn't make it Chinese!
