How to make it

  • In a 3 quart saucepan blend flour and oil, stirring constantly, to blend for 2-3 minutes until browned.
  • Gradually pour in chicken broth, stirring constantly to blend.
  • Add all remaining ingredients.
  • Cover and simmer 20 minutes.
  • Remove bay leaves and lemon slices.
  • Serve over hot cooked rice.
