Ingredients

How to make it

  • Cream butter and one cup of brown sugar.
  • Combine soda, flour and rolled oats.
  • Add to creamed mix.
  • Press half into greased 9 inch square pan.
  • Filling: Cut dates. Add brown sugar, cook until thick in boiling water about 10 minutes total time on stove top..
  • Cool; spread on top of mixture in pan.
  • Spoon remaining mixture on top of filling.
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • Cool, cut in squares.
  • Great with ice cream (butter pecan is to die for)
