Macaroni Pie Recipe
Macaroni, in Italy, is like long, fat spaghetti. I have no idea where to get that where I am, so I use penne.

Ingredients
  • 1 lb penne pasta
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 1 c crushed crackers
  • 1 c grated sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 c half and half

Directions
  1. Preheat the oven to 400.
  2. Boil and cook the pasta until it's soft but not quite done.
  3. Drain thoroughly and toss with the butter until th ebutter is completely melted.
  4. Butter a casserole and layer the pasta, then cracker, then cheese, repeating until all are used.
  5. In a separate bowl beat the eggs until well blended, then slowly add the half and half until it is evenly mixed with the eggs.
  6. Pour the egg/cream over the casserole and cook for 30 minutes.
  7. Be casreful of overcooking as the eggs may separate.
