Texas Red Draw Recipe

Texas Red Draw Recipe
This is sometimes called a Red Eye or Red Beer. I know it as a Red Draw based on a bar in Texas called Bar-L and P-2. Only place you can pull up in your car and sit and drink a couple.

Ingredients
  • 1 Can or Bottle of Budwieser
  • 1 small can of plain tomato juice
  • Salt

Directions
  1. This is very important when making a authentic Red Draw. You must have a cold, frosty mug or you do not get the full effect. Pull out your frosty mug, pour two fingers (or two splashes of tomato juice in mug) and fill rest up with the beer. Couple of dashes of salt on top and there ya go!

Sounds like a good, interesting twist on a Bloody Mary! Have to try it. Thanks!

This is one of the best hangover cures in the world! It really works.

Oh my goodness, I remember my father drinking these back in the '50's when I was a wee little girl(and he would often throw in a raw egg - he said it cured whatever ailed you!)...I love beer chasers with a Bloody Mary, so I'm sure I would enjoy this creation. Thanks!!

I drink this in my younger days.

I love Red Beer... Wakes you up on a hangover morning....;-)~

I was first introduced to this drink by bikers in the 70s. They refered to it as a "Red Eye". They would drink all night then start on Red Eyes in the morning until they felt good enough to drink beer again. Good post.

PS: It is really good. Try it with Tobasco too. I was once told that it was the original Bloody Mary. Not sure if that is true however. But it is a pretty good hangover-remedy.
