Heirloom Tomato Salad with Tomato Granita

- Granita: shopping list
- 1Tbs.red wine vinegar shopping list
- 2tsp extra virgin olive oil shopping list
- 1/4tsp kosher salt shopping list
- 8 oz. seeded peeled heirloom tomato shopping list
- Salad: shopping list
- 4 assorted heirloom tomatoes,cut into 1/4"-thick slices(about 2lbs.) shopping list
- 1/2tsp fresh ground black pepper shopping list
- 1/4tsp kosher salt shopping list
- 1Tbs thin sliced fresh basil shopping list
How to make it
- Granita: Place vinegar,oil,1/4tsp salt and seeded peeled tomato in a blender or food processor,process till smooth. Place tomato mixture into an 8" square baking dish;cover and freeze till firm,stirring twice during first 2 hours. Remove mixture from freezer;scrape entire mixture with a fork till fluffy.
- Salad: Arrange tomatoe slices on a platter. Sprinkle tomoatoes with pepper and 1/4tsp salt. Top with granita. Sprinkle with basil.
