I just had to bookmark this one. It brought back a flood of memories. I was the ripe old age of 9 when I asked my not so great cook Mom to teach me how to cook (her thinking I would choose cookies or something) Well I wiped out her latest copy of Woman's Day magazine and pointed to a recipe for Shrimp Egg Foo Yung and said "I wanna make this." (My Dad loved Chinese food and I was in the dog house with him). Bless her heart she bought the ingredients and both of us learned how to make this together. And yes it got me out of the dog house with my Dad. LOL
