This cake was always present at church socials, and 'coffee and cake' visits. Easy, and tasty.

The only change I would suggest would be to mix the second topping (1/2. c. coconut & 1/2 c. pecans) into the boiled topping just before you pour it onto the cake, for easier spreading. I had a teensy bit of difficulty getting the boiled topping to spread out enough over the whole cake, but that may also be because I used the 'larger' of my 13 x 9 baking dishes.

Sounds great! I have a different fruit ccoktail cake that I think is delicious and this one has to be also!

I made this last night and it was delicious! We couldn't wait for it to cool all the way, so we enjoyed warm slices. But it was also delicious cold for breakfast, too! (a naughty habit I learned from my dad - cake for breakfast!) Very moist and the topping is delicious! I did add a few extra pecans, because I'm sort of nutty - hahaha! I posted a pic of the finished cake and a to-be-devoured slice.

I made this one time, while the rest of the family slept. My Mom used to buy things in bulk. She kept the salt and sugar next to each other! LOL! I bet you guessed it, got the salt... It was so pretty, and so very wrong!!!
