Ingredients

How to make it

  • Boil sugar, vinegar and cinnamon together for 5 minutes for syrup.
  • Cook peaches in syrup, a few at a time, until tender.
  • Put peaches in sterilized jars and cover with syrup.
  • Process according to directions in a recent canning book.

    I'm from "Dixie" and I've never canned a thing. This will be my first effort. My Grandmother always pickled her peaches whole. I remember they were wonderful but extremely messy. I'm hoping the taste is still the same without the pit. Thanks!

    We are planning on putting in a peach tree or two...granted it'll be some time before I have a harvest but I'm tickled to have this recipe waiting for me when I do. Thanks!
