- 1 Cup Uncooked White long grain rice shopping list
- 5 Cups water shopping list
- 1/2 Cup milk shopping list
- 1/2 Tablespoon vanilla extract shopping list
- 1/2 Teaspoon ground cinnamon shopping list
- 2/3 Cup White sugar shopping list
- 1/4 Cup light cream or Half and Half shopping list
How to make it
- Pour rice and water into a blender and process just until the rice begins to break up, about 60 seconds.
- Allow Rice and Water to stand at room temperature for a minimum of 3 hours.
- Strain the rice water into a pitcher and then discard the rice (or use it for another purpose).
- Combine the milk, cream, vanilla, cinnamon and sugar with the rice water, mixing well.
- Chill and stir before serving over ice. Enjoy!!

I love horchata, I had it first in Spain (they add also some almond extract), and then in Mexico - afterwards I purchased the mix, because I never knew how to make it myself. Thank you for sharing this very refreshing recipe!
