Ingredients

The Last of our Crowder Peas n Butter Beans

4 slices bacon

1 small onion, chopped

About a pound of shelled and cleaned crowder peas

2 cups of shelled and cleaned butter beans (all we had left) :(

4 cups (or more) water (do not allow to dry in pan, the

liquid taste very good also with cornbread!)

1/2 teaspoon seasoned salt (optional)

salt n pepper to your taste

Directions

Place bacon in a skillet or just microwave it..cooking until almost crisp. (save about 3 tbls. bacon fat)

Mix all other ingrediants and cook as long as you like..we like them done, but firm.

(I am NOT sure of cooking time, it is pretty fast).

I think I defrosted some type of brown bean instead of crowder peas. Maybe pinto. It's too late to turn back now. Hope it comes out alright.
