Chewy Caramel Chip Bars

- 12 oz. caramels (unwrapped candy caramels or a 12 oz. caramel dip) shopping list
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk shopping list
- 2 sticks butter shopping list
- ******* shopping list
- 1 yellow cake mix shopping list
- 1/4 C oil shopping list
- 2 eggs shopping list
- 1 C white chocolate chips shopping list
- 2 C chocolate chips shopping list
- 1/2 C toffee pieces shopping list
How to make it
- Melt caramels, milk and butter on low hear to just boiling, stirring frequently.
- Set aside to cool.
- *****************
- Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs by hand.
- Add white chocolate and chocolate chips, then toffee pieces.
- Mix all together, batter will be crumbly.
- Put 3/4 of cake mixture in buttered 9 x 13 pan.
- Reserve 1/4 of mixture for topping.
- Bake at 350 degrees for 20 - 25 minutes.
- Cool 10 - 15 minutes.
- Pour caramel mixture over top of cake mixture.
- Sprinkle remaining cake mixture over top of all.
- Bake 10 minutes longer.
- Cool.
- Run knife around edges to prevent sticking.
- Refrigerate 1 to 2 hours, then cut into smaller pieces.
- They are so rich you only need a small taste, but I never stop there!
