Danny Boomes Sheperds Pie Recipe

Ingredients

1 table spoon butter

1 table spoon olive oil

1 onion diced

2 carrots diced

2 stalks celery ( I chopped up the leaves and used them in the end)

2-3 cloves garlic (lee or more to your taste)

salt and pepper

1 1/2 tablespoon tomato paste

1/12-2 pounds ground chuck (angus if available)

2 tablespoons worcestershire sauce

1/2 cup beef stock

1 1/2 cups frozen peas

Cheesey mashed potatoes from 4 pounds yukon gold potatoes with 1 cup shredded white cheddar added (make potatoes as you would normally make them, these will go on top.

Directions

Preheat oven to 400 F.

Add onions, carrots celery and ground chuck and cook along with the butter and oil for 15-20 min until veggies are soften

add tomato paste to pan and mix well add worcestershire and beef stock and simmer 10 min

add frozen peas cook 3-5 min

transfer to a ovenproof baking dish

add the mashed potatoes on top and run a fork through the top

bake 20 min until browned

I served this tonight with fresh corn on the cob and cresent rolls

** I prep everything before hand it made it a breeze to make, really. Let me know what you think.
